Welcome! This is a website that everyone can build together. It's easy!

HomeThis is a featured page

Lexicon RPG is a WIKI based off of the game idea outlined here (It's a Google cache of the original blog entry) and here.

Until it all gets up and running it will be stuck with the blah name it has now, but look for more updates in the future.

At this point it looks like the main contributors will be 5 members from FBTBForums. Jake_Snicket (me) and Logan Starfire will head it up.

It's looking like it will be Science Fiction themed, though, like Star Wars but unlike Isaac Asimov, it will not be "hard" Sci-Fi.

2/21/07 Update (Aaron): As of 12:08 today, two other members that I've invited have joined! I'm waiting for confirmation from the third.
Things are starting to happen, folks!

2/26/07 Update (Aaron): Here's the skinny, folks. One of the members I invited declined, feeling he wouldn't be a good fit for the job. So, I need someone else. If you have a suggestion, leave a comment on the members page.

Also, I don't really want to wait another week for this thing to start up So, later today, I will submit the very first article! If we don't have a fifth member, one of us can write two articles this week.

Lastly, I told Vikram (Junsier) that I'd have a short paragraph with which people could build their articles off. I changed my mind. Instead, I will write a content-heavy first article that will introduce many concepts. Subsequent articles can then build off that.

2/26/07 Update (Erik):
I'm going to agree with Aaron on this one. We've brainstormed a bit to get to even this point, so now that it's the four of us, I'm pretty sure someone's got a good idea at this point on who can combine our powers to make Captain Planet. Or Captain Wetpaint. Whatever you wanna call it... let's just start tossing some names out there before we burn ourselves out trying to write two articles in a week. I figure PM on FBTB would be the easiest way to go with that...
Other than than... I'm getting antsy to see what Aaron's got up his sleeve for this one.

2/26/07 Update (Aaron): Whoah! The first article is up. Also, please read the comment I posted underneath. Comments are a great way for us to hold discussions here.

Also, I just got an idea I'd like to implement before anyone else posts an article:

Each writer can develop multiple in-universe personalities and have them "write" the articles he posts.
Articles can also be written about these fictional writers, which do not count toward limits. Have fun!

2/26/07 Update (Austin): Since I'm Mr. Tuesday, I've added my page a little bit early. In the 'See Also' section, I went ahead and linked to pages that don't exist already; I figure, this might be a good way to save us some MAJOR time down the road if, when we create new pages, we do it with the same name as the ones already linked to. I also fixed a little bit of formatting on the Article Index page, moving the 'The' 's to the end of subjects (i.e. The Integration Wars to Integration Wars, The). It's a slightly more professional style of formatting, so I think it couldn't hurt to use it.

I'm just adding in this comment to try and make things easier in the long run.

At some point, once we write something for each letter in the alphabet once over, we'll have tons of other links and references to write in. I went into my post, and Junsier's to link everything... Austin and Jake still need some checking through. The reasoning behind all the pre-linking is that once 26 original entries are put in... we have to start filling in the blanks. It's easier to create the link now, cross-reference it now, and then when you click on it, you'll either get a written page or an unwritten one. If it's not yet written, and it's your turn, and not your creation, you can write it and have it already referenced throughout, without having to search for it to backtrack your linking. It's a pain now, but worth it completely. Obviously, if someone catches some errors in this, or has any alternate theories, please... correct a link, comment back, yell at me... whatever!

I just hope this really does work out this way.... and does anyone know who really is going tomorrow, or are we working in some as yet unknown fifth?

Okay, so I chose Wednesday since I don't think we have a set rotation as of yet. I don't at least, but it looks like Aaron on Mondays, Austin on Tuesdays, Erik on Wednesdays, Vikram on Thursdays, and ??? on Fridays. Unless we get someone else in, I guess that will rotate, otherwise, it has to be something alphabetically after Vikram to keep it in order, or he's going to Fridays (). Anyway, I wrote mine early since I had a little idea... can I be free to edit until tomorrow night? It seems short right now. I did go ahead and link everything though... I mean every single thing so far. If it's written as a page already, there's a link for it. If it's still an unwritten page, when you click the link it asks whether or not you want to create the page. So at some point, that'll just be that much easier.
